Aims & Scope |
The
International Medical Research Journal (IMRJ) provides the
means for the rapid publication of reviewed articles in all
aspects of human health. Original papers, short
communications and case reports pertaining to human health
may be submitted. Review papers on various aspects of
medicine are by invitation.
The views expressed by contributors of
published articles and letters are not to be taken as those
of the Institute for Medical Research, Malaysia or the
Editorial Board and neither the Institute nor the Editorial
Board accepts responsibility for the accuracy od statements
made by the authors.

- Format
The size of the journal is 21 X 29.7 cm. and the printed
area 17 X 24.2 cm.
At present there will be no page charges
except for colour reproductions which will be at the
author's expense. The senior author will receive 25 free
reprints. Extra reprints can be ordered at the page proof
stage when the cost per reprint will be indicated
- Instructions to Authors
The Journal accepts original research papers, short
communications, and review articles (normally by invitation)
which have not been published previously, on all aspects of
biomedical , clinical, health systems and behavioural
research. All articles submitted to the Journal will be
submitted for refereeing and the decisions of the Editorial
Board as to the suitability of the article for publication
in the Journal will be final. ll articles submitted to the
Journal will have to be accompanied by a letter signed by
the authors that the article has not been published
previously and that it has not been submitted to other
journals for publication. Submission of a manuscript to the
journal carries with it the right to publish the paper.
Neither the Editorial Board nor the Publishers accept
responsibility for the views and statements of authors
expressed in the paper.
Manuscripts in English should be submitted in triplicate
(including all illustrations), together with the floppy
diskette version of the text (preferably in MS-Word) to :

Lumpur, Malaysia.
Manuscripts should be typewritten on one side of A4
paper, with double spacing throughout and margins of 3 cm.
on both sides. The metric system should be used throughout.
- Original papers should be organized as follows :
Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results,
Discussion, Acknowledgements, and References. Papers should
nor normally exceed 3500 words in length.
- Short Communications will normally be published
more rapidly than full papers. They should not be longer
than one printed page (about 800 words). They should have an
abstract but need not be divided into sactions but must have
a reference list. They are normally used to report important
preliminary results of research carried out.
A title page should be supplied as a separate sheet and
include : title, name of authors, their affliliations, a
complete correspondence address and telephone and fax
numbers.
The abstract should not be more than 250 words long. Key
words, about 3-5 should be provided.
References in the text they should be referred to as:
'......have been published (Dittrich et al., 1983) 'or'.....
as reported by Lim 1990'. In Reference list, all papers must
be arranged alphabetically by name(s) of author(s) and
initial(s), year, title of paper, full journal title, volume
number, first and last page numbers of the paper. Citation
of books should include name(s) and initial(s) of author(s),
year of publication, title of the book or paper, editor(s)
if appropriate, publishers, city of publication, and pages
referred to.
- Tables should be typed on separate sheets with
double spacing, numbered consecutively, with Arabic numerals
and do not contain any vertical lines. A short descriptive
title should appear above each table, and
explainationsidentified with a, b, c, etc.
- Figures (photographs, line drawings, graphs) must
be suitable for high-quality reproduction and should be kept
to the mininum. They should be numbered consecutively, with
Arabic numerals. Coloured illustrations can only included at
the author's expense. Legends should be typewritten on a
separate sheet
